This award is given to a student who displays achievement at school, good citizenship and contributions to the community.

Selection Criteria:
1)  C+ average or better;
2)  Participated in student government, clubs, school teams, and/or community activities;
3)  Displayed dedication and leadership in their service of school and/or community;
4)  Can demonstrate a positive impact on their school and/or community through service.  

This award is in honour of Sooke’s first mayor, Ed MacGregor.

These scholarships are presented to students going on to university.  

May be awarded to one or two students. 

The amount may vary from year to year.

This award is presented to a student with plans to pursue vocational training. 

Vocational training is training for a specific career or trade, excluding the professions. Vocational training focuses on practical applications of skills learned, and is generally unconcerned with theory or traditional academic skills. A large part of the education in vocational schools is hands-on training.

This scholarship goes to a student who has displayed perseverance and determination in overcoming a learning disability or physical challenge.

This award goes to the top Law Studies 12 student at EMCS, Belmont, and Royal Bay.  

This award is offered to EMCS students every three years.

Grad 2026, 2029, 2032...

If you took Law Studies 12 during your Grade 11 year, you may apply for this scholarship during your Grade 12 year.

This award is presented to a deserving student who plans to attend a post-secondary institution.  This is a perpetual award donated in memory of Dougald De Rochie by his wife Gracie, a former secretary at EMCS.

3)  school involvement
4)  academic ability

This scholarship recognizes hard working and deserving students going on to further education.  

The main selection criteria are: academic achievement, community &  school involvement, and inspiring others.  

The amount of the award varies depending on the number of recipients each year.  

Financial need may be considered. 

The individual awards may range from $500 to $2000 and will depend on the funds available.
